The Lisa of Ibeshe Community League is inaugurated as a premier football competition established to honour the enduring legacy of Chief Jamiu Olasunkanmi Adesina the Lisa of Ibeshe Kingdom — a custodian of tradition, a pillar of community development, and a passionate advocate for youth empowerment through sport. This distinguished tournament unites elite teams from across the Ibeshe Community in a celebration of talent, discipline, and heritage. The competition follows a group-stage format, progressing into a thrilling knockout phase where only the strongest survive. Beyond the prize money and trophy, teams will compete for the honour of being crowned champions of a tournament rooted in culture and tradition. The Lisa of Ibeshe Community League is a movement—a bridge between heritage and ambition, and a launchpad for the next generation of footballing stars.

Rules

Tournament Rules

1. Tournament Format - The competition is a 7-A-Side Football Tournament. - Each team shall consist of 7 players on the pitch, including the goalkeeper. - The tournament will feature a Group Stage, followed by a Knockout Stage. - Teams will advance from the group stage based on points and applicable tiebreakers. - The knockout stage will determine the eventual champion. 2. Team Registration - All teams must complete registration through the official tournament registration process. - Each team must submit an official squad list before the commencement of the tournament. - Only registered and verified players are eligible to participate. - A player may not represent more than one team in the tournament. 3. Match Duration - Matches shall be played in two halves. - Match duration and half-time interval shall be determined by the Tournament Organising Committee. - Teams are expected to report to the venue before their scheduled kick-off time. 4. Players & Substitutions - A maximum of 7 players shall be on the field for each team at any time. - Substitutions shall be made in accordance with the tournament's designated substitution procedure. - A substituted player may return to the match where the competition format permits rolling substitutions. - Any team fielding an ineligible player may be sanctioned, including forfeiture of the match. 5. Points System During the group stage: - Win: 3 points - Draw: 1 point - Loss: 0 points Where teams finish level on points, the following criteria may be applied: 1. Goal difference 2. Goals scored 3. Head-to-head result 4. Fair-play record 5. Organising Committee's designated tiebreaker 6. Knockout Stage - Teams qualifying from the group stage will proceed to the knockout phase. - Knockout matches must produce a winner. - Where a knockout match ends in a draw, the winner shall be determined by the tournament's designated penalty-shootout procedure, unless otherwise stated by the Organising Committee. 7. Discipline & Fair Play - Players and officials must demonstrate respect toward opponents, referees, organisers and spectators. - Dangerous play, violent conduct, abusive language, fighting, deliberate misconduct and unsporting behaviour are prohibited. - Yellow and red cards may be issued by match officials. - A player sent off may not return to the match. - Serious disciplinary offences may result in suspension or expulsion from the tournament. 8. Referees & Match Officials - All matches shall be officiated by referees appointed by the Tournament Organising Committee. - The referee's decisions on matters of play shall be respected by all teams and participants. - Only the designated team captain or authorised team official may communicate formal concerns to match officials. 9. Abandoned & Forfeited Matches - A team that fails to appear for its scheduled match without an acceptable reason may forfeit the fixture. - Teams must maintain the required minimum number of players to participate. - Any match abandoned because of misconduct may be subject to disciplinary review and sanction. 10. Protests & Complaints - All official protests must be submitted to the Tournament Organising Committee within the prescribed period. - Complaints concerning player eligibility must be supported by relevant evidence. - The decision of the Tournament Organising Committee on tournament administration and disciplinary matters shall be final. 11. Conduct & Community Values The Lisa of Ibeshe Community League is founded on heritage, unity, discipline, youth empowerment and community development. Every participating team is expected to uphold these values throughout the competition. 12. Tournament Authority - The Tournament Organising Committee reserves the right to interpret and enforce these rules. - The Committee may amend tournament regulations where necessary to ensure the smooth, fair and safe running of the competition. - Participation in the tournament constitutes acceptance of the official tournament rules.
